2. Lectures taught by Dr. N. Nesu
Teaching module programme (Tarantino):
The module includes a series of introductory lessons on Romanian language and culture, illustrated in relation to the European historical and cultural context.
Lecture programme
Romanian phonetics: alphabet; Romanian vowel and consonant system; vowel alternations
Romanian morphology: articles, nouns, pronouns, verbs
Oral exercises: greetings, polite expressions, time indications;

Course format
The course (Module A and Language Course) takes place in the first semester.
Module A is taught in the traditional format (lectures). Each lesson will include a brief presentation of the topic covered, followed by the reading and discussion of further reading.
The Language Course consists of four hours of lessons per week (2h + 2h), two of which will be dedicated to the presentation and practice of grammatical theory and two to oral practice: conversation, oral presentation of previously set topics, etc.

Attendance is not compulsory. The syllabus and exam format are the same for attending and non-attending students. Non-attending students may agree on an individual plan.

Module A includes an oral examination aimed at assessing the student's ability to present the topics covered in class, supplemented by the supporting bibliography. The examination takes place at the end of the course.
The language course includes a written examination (2.5 hours) and an oral examination, which will take place at the end of the first semester. The written examination involves solving exercises on topics covered during the semester. The oral exam will test the skills acquired during the oral practice exercises. Both exams (written and oral) will be graded on a pass/fail basis rather than on a scale of 1 to 30. The dates of the written exam for the language course are indicated in the 2025-2026 exam calendar, which can be accessed on the lecturer's page and on the Moodle platform. The dates of the oral assessment for the Language Course are the same as those published on INFOSTUD.
The final mark, out of thirty, will be awarded on the basis of the oral examination with the lecturer and will be recorded on the INFOSTUD platform. The marks for the Language Course assessments (written and oral) will also be taken into account when awarding the final mark.
