By attending the course, students will acquire a specific preparation, in terms of acquired knowledge and understanding, of the complex phenomenon of maritime and air navigation, which, contributing to guarantee the mobility of people and things, is of fundamental importance within the tourism sector.
During the course, students will acquire an adequate technical-legal language, by analyzing of the multilevel regulatory discipline, the case law and doctrinal contributions.
Therefore, on the basis of the knowledge acquired and applied, also during class exercises, they will be able to arrive at a correct interpretation of normative and juridical texts.
At the end of the course, the students will be able to argue and communicate, effectively and with an appropriate lexicon, their reflections on the topics studied, and thanks to the skills so developed, they'll be able to undertake more complex studies in the tourism sector, in a independent and critical way.

At the end of the course, students will be able to recognise and interpret the most relevant aspects of maritime land air law. They will also be able to identify the ratio behind these aspects and define their scope of application using a legal language, enabling them to convey the knowledge they have acquired with confidence.

The course aims to provide students of the Degree Course in Sustainable Tourism Sciences with a basic preparation to enable them to deal with a highly specialised, current and dynamic professional sector such as maritime and air navigation, also with reference to issues related to the sustainability of these modes of transport and their infrastructure. The Syllabus covers both public and private aspects of the subject and has strong connection with international and EU law. In light of the specialised and interdisciplinary nature of maritime and air law, it would therefore be useful to approach the study of this discipline having acquired a basic compendium of legal knowledge.

The course will consist of interactive lectures with the aid of PowerPoint presentations during which particularly significant legal cases will be discussed, also through interaction with students.

Attendance at the course is strongly recommended in view of the many in-depth activities that will take place during the lessons.

- For students attending the course, assessment will take place in progressive steps and will consist of two written tests during the course, which will focus on parts of the programme to be defined during the lessons and will account for 60% of the final assessment, and an oral exam that will take place on the day scheduled for the official exam session and will focus on the discussion of a written paper on a topic agreed upon with each student during the lessons. This last test will account for 40% of the final assessment.

- For students not attending the course, the assessment of knowledge will consist of a traditional oral exam that will focus on the entire programme.
