Objectives
The internship aims to approach students closer to the labour market and to teach them to put the theoretical knowledge into practice. At the end of the internship students will be able to indipendently perform some of the main activities of management and enhancement of the heritage preserved in the national or international archives or libraries.
Learning outcomes
A curricular internship helps students growing during their university career and it’s not necessarly aimed to find a job.
The curricular internship provides 225 hours and allows to obtain 9 CFU. The training project is prepared by the host institution agree with a professor of the disciplinary area appropriate to the content of the proposed activity. The same professor will be its internal scientific and didactic tutor.
Prerequisites
No specific prerequisites are necessary, even the knowledge and skills acquired with the fundamental courses required by the degree course are very important (Archival theory and history of archives; Biblioteconomy; Paleography and diplomatics; Applied informatics

Lessons mode
The curricular internship takes place during the last year of the course at libraries; conservation and research institutes ecc. thanks to agreements specifically stipulated with Sapienza University of Rome and on the basis of a training project agreed under the scientific and didactic responsibility of a professor. The curricular internship requires a commitment of 225 hours.

Exam mode
At the end of the internship, the student will have to proceed with the registration. it is necessary to present an internship report document to certificate the smooth running of the internship. It is possible to obtain the recognition as curricular internship for activities carried out independently by the student and duly certified, by submitting an application to the Didactic Area Council of Archive and Library Theory and Management.
