Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will have acquired theoretical skills regarding the approach to the patient in the course of emergency/urgency and first aid scenarios in the internist, surgical, intensive care and orthopedic fields

Module: General Surgery
Provide students with the knowledge and skills to identify traumtic surgical emergencies. Recognize signs and symptoms of critical illnesses and issues related to the management of surgical emergencies: multiple trauma, thoracic and abdominal trauma. Overview of the approaches and initial treatment of critically ill surgical patients. Know how to use the acquired knowledge to recognize the main syndromes. Acquire the ability to approach a patient with a surgical emergency in an out-of-hospital setting.

The student's ability to proactively orient himself in the presence of emergency/urgency and first aid scenarios in the internist, surgical, intensive care and orthopedic fields will be assessed, taking into due consideration that these are students enrolled in the second year of the course
