Knowledge and Understanding:
By the end of the course, students should have acquired knowledge and understanding of the etiology, pathogenesis, pathophysiology, and clinical aspects of the diseases covered in the various modules of the integrated course, applying this knowledge to the medical-scientific reasoning that leads to the diagnostic process and the application of therapeutic protocols.
Communication Skills:
Students should be able to effectively communicate the principles and concepts learned, including through appropriate medical-scientific language, and be able to discuss and present the knowledge acquired in a clear and structured manner.

Knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the organs/systems covered in the Integrated Course (cardiovascular and thoracic/pulmonary systems)

Module: DISEASES OF THE CARDIOVASCULAR APPARATUS
Electrocardiography Basics: Arterial Hypertension, Mitral Valve Disease, Aortic Valve Disease, Heart Failure
Echocardiography Basics, Noninvasive Diagnostics, Cardiomyopathies, Pericarditis, Myocarditis, Sudden Cardiac Death
ATS Plaque Formation, Stable Angina, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Cardiomyopathies
Syncope, Heart-Brain Interactions in Stroke, Supraventricular Tachyarrhythmias, Hereditary-Familial Heart Disease


Module: VASCULAR SURGERY
Arterial aneurysms and dissections. Chronic obstructive arterial disease of the limbs. Acute limb ischemia. Cerebrovascular insufficiency. Renovascular hypertension.
Visceral ischemic syndromes. Thoracic outlet syndromes. Primary varices. Chronic venous insufficiency.

Pleuropulmonary sepsis. Lung abscesses. Tuberculous sequelae.
Lung malformations. Tracheobronchial stenosis.
Sternal pathology. Benign and malignant bronchopulmonary tumors.

Respiratory failure. Obstructive respiratory diseases. Main interstitial lung diseases. Infectious diseases of the respiratory system. Pulmonary tuberculosis. Pulmonary circulation disorders (pulmonary embolism, cor pulmonale).
Bronchiectasis. Classification of pneumoconiosis.

The teacher delivers frontal lectures with traditional methods, with audiovisual aids and scheduling of lessons as reported on GOMP Aule/Orari system, published on the website of the CdS.
The professionalizing activities envisaged for this integrated course are carried out in small groups in the departments of the hospital facilities affiliated with the Degree Course and in the teaching laboratories following the scheduled rotations as reported in the GOMP Classroom/Timetable System and published on the Degree Course website.
