Course objectives

At the end of the course the student must: • To have acquired the skills essential for the approach to patients affected by Rheumatological Diseases, with particular reference to degenerative and inflammatory rheumatic diseases (systemic or not). • To have acquired the knowledge essential for a diagnostic and therapeutic approach in the major diseases of the immune system, with particular reference to immune deficiencies, autoimmune diseases, vasculitis and allergies. • To have acquired the skills essential for the approach to patients affected by Haematological Diseases, with particular reference to anemia, onco-haematological diseases and disorders of hemostasis.

The Patient Blood Management. Procedures to ensure transfusion safety. Transfusion reactions. Blood donation and donor selection criteria. Processing of donated blood and biological qualification. Plasma and plasma-derived medicinal products.
