Objectives

The course has the general goal of providing both theoretical and practical tools that enable students to acquire the fundamental skills needed to understand the basic communicative dynamics of human interaction, as well as those that more specifically characterize certain aspects of the medical profession.
By the end of the course, students will have acquired knowledge concerning:
- the basic principles of communication and the main obstacles to effective communication (miscommunication);
- the fundamental principles underlying interpersonal persuasion;
- nonverbal communication in its various components, including cross-cultural differences;
- elements of interpersonal conflict resolution and integrative negotiation;
-communication of bad news in medical contexts.
Students will also acquire basic tools for information literacy and learn key concepts of methods for informational and documentary research in electronic and digital environments, including:
-defining information competence;
-verifying its areas of development and application;
- understanding its strategic use in university education;
-learning some techniques for expert online bibliographic research;
-highlighting key aspects of scientific communication.

• The main theoretical models of clinical psychology (psychoanalysis, behaviorism, cognitivism, systemic-family approach);
• The relational and communicative dimensions in psychological and clinical processes

Teaching methods:
Teaching activities will include in-person lectures, asynchronous remote learning, in-person practical training in hospital wards, outpatient clinics, and day hospitals, practical exercises, seminars, simulations, laboratory experiences, preparation of written assignments, clinical case analyses, and the use of online learning tools.
