Objectives

The integrated course aims to present the structural organization of the human body; the main anatomical and clinical applications of structural organization at the macroscopic, microscopic, and ultrastructural levels, connecting structural organization with corresponding functions.
By the end of the course, students should understand the essential morphological characteristics of the systems, systems, and organs of the human body; be able to recognize macroscopic human anatomy preparations and diagnose organs under the microscope; and be aware of the fundamentals of human anatomy useful for understanding physiology, pathology, and physical and instrumental semiotics.

Learning outcomes

Expected Learning Outcomes (ELOs)By the end of this course, the student will be able to:1. Knowledge and Understanding (Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione)Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of human anatomical terminology, surface anatomy, and the general topographical organization of the human body.Describe the macro- and microscopic structure, topography, and clinical anatomy of the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems (both male and female).Explain the structural and functional organization of the central and peripheral nervous systems, the endocrine/neuroendocrine systems, the integumentary system, and the special senses organs.Understand the core principles of organogenesis (embryological development) for each major organ system and the morphological changes associated with aging and menopause.2. Applying Knowledge and Understanding (Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione)Correlate the precise morphology and structure of organs, joints, and tissues with their respective mechanical, metabolic, static, and motor functions.Integrate anatomical knowledge with clinical data, endoscopic findings, and diagnostic imaging modalities (X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound).Identify the clinical and surgical relevance of body cavities, compartments, visceral spaces, and peritoneal reflections (e.g., mesenteries, omenta, recesses).Trace the origin, course, and distribution of major blood vessels (arteries, veins, splanchnic circulation) and nerves (cranial, spinal, and autonomic networks).3. Autonomy of Judgment & Practical Skills (Autonomia di giudizio e abilità pratiche)Independently recognize and identify skeletal segments, anatomical models, major organs, and regional muscle groups during macroscopic examination.Analyze and diagnose the microscopic architecture of human tissues, differentiating between normal healthy organs and recognizing key cellular populations (e.g., germinal epithelium, endocrine cells, neuroendocrine networks).Interpret anatomical imaging and successfully apply surface anatomy landmarks for clinical orientation.
