Objectives
General aims.
The course aims to bring the student to the knowledge of two traditional areas of psychological inter-vention: health organizations (hospital and territory) and third sector organizations (associations, social cooperatives, volunteers, NGOs ...). Retracing the historical location, the birth and evolution of these two contexts allow to clarify the cultural dimensions, the resources and the main limitations that char-acterize them. The main theories and methods of psychological intervention in health and third sector organizations will be presented; the presence, role and use of psychological skills in the contexts under consideration will be discussed.
The course aims to develop skills for comparison and exchange between different skills in order to grasp the complexity of the new questions of biological, psychological and social health.
The course will offer the student the possibility to actively experiment with specific intervention meth-odologies and the opportunity to have a direct comparison with experts in the field.
Among the course contents: multidisciplinary teams and integrated working models, chronic pathology management, network working models, social interventions

Lessons mode
The teaching model adopted will be a combination of
- lectures, to expose the theoretical principles guiding the design and implementation of interventions in the psychological field.
- role-playing
- Group work stimulates participation, in-depth study, and critical reflection on the concepts addressed.
- Analysis of intervention projects, to apply the acquired knowledge in the critical discussion of intervention models.
- workshop experiences, aimed at acquiring professional skills on the activation, participation, conduct, and evaluation of working groups
Frequency
Direct involvement and active student participation are required
Attendance is strongly recommended, especially for laboratory credits
Exam mode
Evaluation Objective
To assess theoretical knowledge and operational skills
Number of tests and time allocation
Assessment is only foreseen at the end of the teaching, based on the examination tests provided by the faculty.
There are no intermediate assessment tests: pre-appeals, examinations.
Type, duration, and method of administration
The assessment includes a written examination and an oral interview.
The written examination includes three open questions. The student may choose two compulsory queries and a third from two alternative proposals.
The first two questions are compulsory and will be marked from 0 to 10 points; the third question (chosen by the student) will be marked from 0 to 5. The examination will last 75 minutes.
Preparing and administering an interview with a psychologist, working in healthcare or the third sector, and observing a group is required for the laboratory examination. The group observation will be done using an observation grid that the student will become familiar with and learn to use while attending the course. The laboratory work (interview and group observation) is to be reported in a paper handed in at least 1 week before the examination date. The paper will be graded from 0 to 5 points.
All laboratory tests can be carried out in small groups.
Honours will be awarded to students who achieve the highest mark in both assessments and/or stand out for the quality of their exam.
Final assessment
For the written examination: The first two questions are assessed from 0 to 10 points; the third question (the one of the student's choice) is evaluated from 0 to 5 points.
