Objectives

Interdisciplinary excursions to enhance the understanding of the territory in its various naturalistic components supported by GIS data management

Learning outcomes

The student learns to observe a landscape with a multidisciplinary naturalistic critical eye, and then analyses data from the visited area in GIS.

Prerequisites

Systematic Zoology course, Natural Sciences

Programme

Two multidisciplinary practical sessions in the field, which cover geology, botany and zoology

field session 1 - Lago di Albano
Synantropic species, Specie sinantropiche, waterfowl, native and invasive species, apex predators

field session 2 - Orbetello e Argentario
Natura2000, birds congregation and internation standards for biodiversity conservation

Books

Bibliographic material about the local fauna will be distributed for the areas where the field trips take place.
Relevant bibliographic material will be made available to the students via a Google Drive folder before each field session.

Lessons mode

One field trip to Grotte di Pastena.
One field trip to Colli Albani (Albano lake).

Frequency

Attendance is mandatory in order to acquire the ECTs

Exam mode

Students' preparation will be evaluated during the field session via direct student-teacher interaction.
