The course aims to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the foundational concepts and tenets and the fundamental principles and institutes of Private Law.
The course will provide an overall analysis of the general theory and the essential branches of Private Law, highlighting the role of the EU in harmonizing Private Law.

1) Exam program 9CFU
Analysis of the rules of Italian private law and explanation of its principal institutes.
The course covers the central private law institutes, and in particular, as an example:
- introductory notions ;
- law and families ;
- succession due to death;
- property law;
- obligations and contracts;
- civil liability;
- protection of rights.

2) Exam program 6 CFU:

The teaching will be given through frontal teaching and seminars aimed at deepening individual topics of particular relevance and examining provisions rendered by national and European Courts.

The course will be in-person, and class attendance is not mandatory. Supplementary seminars will be held online.

The final exam consists of an oral interview lasting approximately 20 minutes and is structured on the basis of three questions on the topics covered during the course (lessons and seminars) as well as in the texts indicated.Students may take advantage of an intermediate oral test, lasting approximately 20 minutes, consisting of a test of no more than three questions, concerning institutions, problems, rules of private law governed by: Preliminary provisions to the civil code; Books I, II, III of the civil code".
