Learning outcomes

PATHOLOGY
Knowledge of the methodology and techniques in diagnostic pathology and of the principal diseases of lung, breast and the gastro-intestinal tract.
IMAGING DIAGNOSTIC
Knowledge and skills in radiation protection and diagnostic imaging required for the nursing profession.
PHARMACOLOGY
The main objective of the General Pharmacology course is to provide students with the pharmacological foundations needed to understand pharmacodynamics, adverse side effects, and the toxicology of drugs. The key areas of knowledge acquired will be: 1) drug receptors; 2) signal transduction mechanisms; 3) toxic effects and main mechanisms of toxicity. The knowledge acquired will enable students to develop the following skills: 1) understanding the importance of proper drug dosing; 2) understanding the mechanism of drug action; 3) understanding the relationship between dose and effect; 4) avoiding toxic effects; 5) using drugs rationally and achieving maximum efficacy with minimal toxicity.
CLINICAL IMMUNOLOGY
Knowledge of the immune system and its functioning, including its structures and cells. Knowledge of lymphoid organs. Acquisition of new skills in the use of monoclonal antibodies. Knowledge of the mechanisms of transplant rejection. Acquisition of the mechanisms underlying autoimmune diseases.
CLINICAL NURSING APPLIED TO DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC PATHWAYS
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
• analyze and define the fundamental concepts of Clinical Pathways (PDTA), continuity of care, and the professional role of the nurse;
• ensure the application of Clinical Governance principles across the entire continuum of care, recognizing and addressing potential organizational challenges;
• promote a patient- and family-centered approach to care, with particular focus on the management and long-term care of chronic conditions
REHABILITATION NURSING SCIENCES
At the end of the course, the student will be able to analyze how to approach the care and mobilization of patients with various pathologies.

Prerequisites

PATHOLOGY
Knowledge of the human anatomy and physiology and of general pathology of diseases.
IMAGING DIAGNOSTIC
Knowledge of radiation physics.
PHARMACOLOGY
The student must possess basic notions of anatomy, physiology and pathology.
CLINICAL IMMUNOLOGY
Basic knowledge of anatomy, cytology, and histology. Knowledge of the basic mechanisms of cell function.
CLINICAL NURSING APPLIED TO DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC PATHWAYS
Students are expected to have:
• knowledge of healthcare services organization and models of continuity of care;
• knowledge of the Nursing process and nursing diagnoses
REHABILITATION NURSING SCIENCES
Theoretical knowledge to deal with different situations.
