Professor Alberto Santoro was born in Cosenza on 1961.
He received the Scientific High School degree in 1979 at the Liceo Scientifico "Enrico Fermi" Cosenza.
Graduated in Medicine in 1986, at the 'University of Rome "La Sapienza" , thesis entitled: "Endoarterectomy" Supervisor Prof. Antonio Cancrini.
He qualified to practice medicine in 1987 at the 'University of Rome "La Sapienza".
In 1987 he was a Member of the Medical Order of Cosenza.
In 1988 he won a prize for a research about post-surgical infections from the National Institute of Health.
In 1993 it was structured in the Division of Emergency Surgery of the Institute of Surgical Sciences directed by Prof. Giorgio Di Matteo.
In 1998 he became a Chairman of the regional health service in Calabria.
In 2002 he became researcher (Med 18) and he is still employed in the Department of Surgical Sciences (Director Prof. Adriano Redler).
Since 1999 he is Professor in the School of Specialisation in General Surgery directed by Prof. Enrico De Antoni.
Since 1999 he is Professor in the School of Specialization in Surgery of the Digestive directed by Prof. Angelo Filippini.
Since 1999 he is Professor in the School of Specialisation in Vascular Surgery directed by Prof. Adriano Redler.
Since 1999 he is Professor in the School of Specialisation in Otorhinolaryngology directed by Prof. Roberto Filipo.
Since 2000-2001 he is Professor of General Surgery in the university courses of Nursing and Obstetrics and Gynecology.
On 14 December 2002 he recived the title "Academic Merit in the Angelica Constantine Academy.
Since 2003 he is Professor in neck organs pathology .
Since 2002 he is Professor of General Surgery in the course "D" of Medicine in the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
Since 2009 he is Professor in the course "N" of Nursing in the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
On September 2010 he was appointed consultant for the management of outpatient care of the Umberto I Hospital in Rome by the Director F. Vaia.
On March 2011 he was appointed consultant for the management of the outside facilities (Umberto I Hospital) by the Director F. Vaia.
Since 2018 he was become responsible of Trial Cinic Center for General Healthcare Direction of Policlinico Umberto I hospital
