EXAM PROCEDURES AND REGISTRATION
Exam dates for all sessions are uploaded to Infostud. Registration on Infostud is mandatory within the specified deadlines. Students who have not registered will not be allowed to take the exam.
Exam Format
Method: Written and oral exams take place in the presence of the Professor and the Language Assistant (CEL).
Prerequisites: Only students who have passed the written exam and obtained eligibility (idoneità) may proceed to the oral exam.
New Regulations (Effective June 2026)
Starting from the June 2026 session, the written and oral parts of the Korean Language exam must be taken and passed within the same session.
If a student fails one of the two parts, or fails to complete the exam within the same session, they must retake both parts (written and oral) in a subsequent session. Written exam results will no longer be carried over to future sessions.
CIVIS-KF KOREAN STUDIES E-SCHOOL CONSORTIUM
This project is dedicated to Master’s students (LM-36) enrolled in the Korean curriculum. This consortium—including partner universities from the CIVIS Alliance (Tübingen, Stockholm, Aix-Marseille, Bucharest, Madrid, Malaga)—aims to integrate expertise through courses taught by professors across these institutions.
Courses are held in English for a total of 18 CFU.
CIVIS Courses (2025-2026):
Everyday History in Korea (Prof. Lee You Jae, University of Tübingen): 1st Semester, Thursdays (16:00–18:00), Room E, Ex Vetrerie Sciarra. Starts Oct 9.
Anthropology of Korea: Consult Kim Kyungmi’s notice board.
Korean Pop Culture (Prof. Kim Eunah, Stockholm University): 2nd Semester. Schedule TBD.
Note: Attendance is mandatory for CIVIS courses.

UNDERGRADUATE THESIS (TRIENNALE)
There are no specific prerequisites or minimum grades required to request a thesis. In addition to the Traditional Thesis (15–30 pages, 2,200 characters each), the following alternatives are available:
Translation Thesis: A commented translation of a Korean text (min. 3–4 pages) assigned by the professor, with an introductory note in Italian.
Bibliographic Research Thesis: A reasoned bibliography or critical reviews of volumes/articles regarding a specific agreed-upon theme.
Note: Grades are based on quality and effort, not the type of thesis chosen. Master’s thesis (Magistrale) procedures remain unchanged.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND STUDY ABROAD
Options include 6-month mobility or a Double Degree (12 months during the 2nd year of Master’s).
Credits: Minimum 12 CFU. Korean courses (3 local credits) usually equal 6 Sapienza CFU.
Stipend: Currently approx. €700/month.
Procedures: Winners must confirm within one month, complete the online Learning Agreement, and have it signed by the RAM (Prof. Bruno). Changes during the stay require a Change Form. Upon return, students must submit official transcripts to the International Office and the RAM.
Internships in Korea
To validate an internship, send documentation to Prof. Bruno specifying: total hours, dates, course/project title, and the host institution's name.
