Emilia Di Rocco è professore associato di letterature comparate presso il Dipartimento di Studi Europei, Americani e Interculturali dell Università La Sapienza di Roma. Nel 2019 ha avuto la Fulbright Chair-Distinguished Lecturer per l'a.a. 2021-2021 presso il Department of Italian and French della Northwestern University (Il). È presidente della European Society of Comparative Literature (ESCL/SELC). Si occupa dei rapporti tra la letteratura classica, medievale e moderna, delle riscritture del mito classico e della Bibbia. Oltre a numerosi saggi, ha curato due numeri monografici sulle riscritture della parabola del figliol prodigo in letteratura per la rivista Studium (2013, 2014) pubblicati in ebook nel 2021, il volume Storie del Grande Sud. Per Piero Boitani (2017), Mondi di Fede e di invenzione. Intersezioni tra religioni e letteratura (2018, insieme a Elena Spandri) e Astonishment. Essays on Wonder for Piero Boitani (2019). Ha inoltre pubblicato Letteratura e legge nel Trecento inglese: Chaucer, Gower e Langland (2003), Chaucer: guida ai Canterbury Tales (2003), Io Tiresia. Metamorfosi di un profeta (2007), Baciare la terra. Un topos letterario (2012) e Raccontare il ritorno. Temi e trame della letteratura (2017). È membro del consiglio di amministrazione della Fondazione Lorenzo Valla Classici Greci e Latini, dove è anche vicedirettore della ricerca della Fondazione Balzan Premio presso la Fondazione Lorenzo Valla. È, inoltre, membro del Medieval Academy of America Leeds International Medieval Congress Programme Committee (2020-2024). È direttore responsabile della rivista Status Quaestionis. Language, Text, Culture. Ha collaborato con la Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia del Portogallo per la valutazione dei progetti di ricerca e come consulente con Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.
Emilia Di Rocco is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature in the Department of European, American and Intercultural Studies at La Sapienza University of Rome. In 2019 she was awarded the Fulbright Chair-Distinguished Lecturer at the Department of Italian and French at Northwestern University (Il). She is President of the European Society of Comparative Literature (ESCL/SELC). Her research focuses on the relationships between classical, medieval and modern literature, rewritings of classical myths as well as literature and the Bible. She has edited two monographic issues on rewritings of the parable of the prodigal son in literature for the journal Studium (2013, 2014) published in ebook in 2021, the volume Storie del Grande Sud. For Piero Boitani (2017), Mondi di fede e d invenzione. Intersezioni tra Letteratura e religione (2018, together with Elena Spandri) and Astonishment. Essays on Wonder for Piero Boitani (2019). She also published Letteratura e legge nel Trecento inglese: Chaucer, Gower and Langland (2003), Chaucer. Guida ai Canterbury Tales (2003), Io Tiresia. Metamorfosi di un profeta (2007), Baciare la terra. Un topos letterario (2012) and Raccontare il ritorno. Temi e trame della letteratura (2017). She is a member of the board of directors of the Fondazione Lorenzo Valla Classici Greci e Latini, where she is also deputy director of research for the Balzan Prize at the Fondazione Lorenzo Valla. She is also a member of the Medieval Academy of America Leeds International Medieval Congress Programme Committee (2020-2024). She is editor-in-chief of the journal Status Quaestionis. Language, Text, Culture. She collaborated with the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia of Portugal in the evaluation of research projects and as a consultant with Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.
