Flavia Mariotti teaches French Literature at Sapienza University of Rome (Faculty of Humanistic Sciences). Her works generally focus on the Seventeenth and Twentieth-Century Literature. Regarding the Seventeenth Century, at first she dealt with the theory and practice of translation in the Port-Royal milieu by editing also unpublished works and documents; then she has dealt with the fiction (Sorel, Scarron, Furetière and Histoire Comique) and the classical theatre and in particular with the works of Racine, by editing also an Italian version of Iphigénie for Marsilio. Regarding the Twentieth-Century, she has studied above all the novel and the narrative techniques of the Twenties, by publishing works on Cocteau and Radiguet.
