Curriculum

Prof Eng . Franco Marinozzi – Short Curriculum Vitae

Franco Marinozzi was born in Rome in 08/30/1964. He graduates in 12/17/1991 in Electronic Engineering at “Sapienza” University of Rome. His Master thesis concerned the design and realization of an apparatus for monitoring ground currents of the biomedical instrumentation for patient safety.
In February 1996 he discussed his PhD thesis on Mechanical Measurements for Engineering about the design and realization of a microtensile device for the characterization of nonstandard (even biological) microspecimens.
In October 1996 he joined the Mechanics and Aeronautics Department of “Sapienza” University of Rome as Assistant Professor. From November 2008 he is Full Professor of Biomedical instrumentation.

2011 - 2017: Chair of the Clinical and Biomedical Engineering Programs at “Sapienza” University of Rome.

Course of Biomedical Instrumentation 1 – BS Clinical Engineering “Sapienza” University of Rome.

Scientific activity.

• Development of protocols and devices for rehabilitation medicine by virtual and immersive tools.
• Development of in silico surgical training models from MRI and CT scans
• 3D printing of surgical training models
• Assessment of mechanical properties of bone microspecimens.
• Morphological study of cancellous bone architecture by means of micro CT equipments.
• Structural stiffness of cancellous bone by combined FE, micro CT and mechanical tests.
• Hystomorphometric study of biological soft tissue for the measurement of pathological alterations.
• Performance assessment of biomedical instrumentation.
