CURRICULUM VITAE - Giovanni Paolo ROMANO
Current Position:
Full Professor at the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, "La Sapienza" University in Roma, scientific group ING-IND / 06 (Fluid-mechanics), from 1/1/2005. Currently at Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department.

Appointments
- Coordinator of Energy Engineering Degree Courses at La Sapienza University of Rome from 2012 to 2019.
- Erasmus student exchange Program Coordinator for the Faculty of Engineering from 2008 to 2012.
- Coordinator of the Fluid-mechanics group in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from 2005.
- Member of the PhD board in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from 2008.
- National Coordinator in CUN 09 area for the scientific group Fluid-mechanics, ING-IND 06.

* coordinating and joining investigations in fundamental and applied fluid-mechanics leading to more than 100 papers published on national and international journals and presented at national and international conferences;

- Experimental Fluid Mechanics by using advance optical techniques as Particle Image Velocimetry, Laser Induced Fluorescence, Laser Doppler Anemometry, Global Phase Doppler
- Continuous and pulsating jet study and control with particular reference to effects due to Reynolds number, initial and boundary condition and mixing in the near field
- Small-scale turbulence, dissipation and isotropy
- Microfluidics with applications to energy engineering as in fuel cells and micromixers
- Wing and car model wakes investigations in wind tunnel together with aerodynamic force determination
- Turbulent boundary layers on smooth and rough walls
- Fluid-mechanics application to biomedical devices as heart valves, pumps and ventilation for surgery applications
- Two phase flows and sprays
