Objectives
The course of Genetic deals in depth with the fundamental principles of classical and molecular genetics, with an approach focused on the dynamic process of observation, experimentation and discovery. Elements of formal genetics are addressed, with particular attention to topics debated on the social, legal and ethical aspects of genetics, such as genetic engineering and cloning. The learning adopted by the student during the course of genetics is based on the constructivism method. In short, the growth of knowledge of the topics covered by the teacher during the course derives from the student's development of the new concepts presented, which will be connected to the information that was previously "constructed". In other words, previous knowledge and experience will help the student to shape the subsequent knowledges to accept, process and construct new concepts.

Exam modes
To pass the exam you must obtain a grade of not less than 18/30 in each module. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the topics covered during the course.
To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude the student must instead demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, arguing a linear reasoning with the use of technical terms and using correct linguistic expressions.
