Objectives

The main objective of the course is to provide students with a sufficiently broad knowledge of the lexicon in English. This mastery is acquired through the consolidation of the basic skills of the language (spoken, listening, reading and writing), to allow the understanding of specialized texts, also encouraging the independent study and practice of communication skills useful for the work.

1. Knowledge and understanding: The course starts from a pre-intermediate level (A2). Students will study texts and specialist materials related to business English for this level.

2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: The theoretical aspects concerning the English language are flanked by practical practical exercises of various types. In this way, students will be able to apply the English language, either through specific study techniques, or by making use of the exercises carried out.

3. Students' autonomy of judgment: students are encouraged to cultivate greater autonomy of learning and development of critical analysis with respect to the types of texts and their content.

4. Ability to communicate what has been learned: Through a substantially interactive teaching approach, students are encouraged to participate actively in teaching. This helps to develop the communication skills in English to develop and apply what has been learned during the course. During the lesson, students should only communicate in English.

5. Ability to continue the studies independently: At the end of the course it is assumed that the attending students have acquired a knowledge of the specialized language that allows them to apply this knowledge to various situations and contexts. These tools and skills will allow students to deepen the study of specialized English language and will also continue independently when they come into contact with the world of work.
