Description of the contents
Introduction to geological storage: technologies, sites and socio economical aspects. Different types of storage: methane, carbon dioxide and nuclear waste. The geological storage of CO2. The Natural laboratory concept: example form Europe and Italy. Characterization methods for geological storage site. Capacity estimates of CO2 geological storage sites. Approaches to large scale problems. Numerical models for CO2 spreading and related processes. Examples of field projects, demo and pilot sites.
Fractured reservoir and implica1ons for storage. Injection phase hydrogeological and geomechanical implications. Monitoring: geochemical and geophysics. Risk assessment in geological storage of CO2. Public perception and societal acceptance.
