Learning goals
Prepare students to proposing solutions to real statistical problems in many research areas.

Knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course the students have the ability to understand and solve real practical statistical problems and to propose adequate solutions.

Applying knowledge and understanding
Students are required to apply theoretical and computational skills to real problems and case-studies in a wide range of domains.

Making judgements
One of the main goals of practical activities is to develop the ability to understand problems and to propose and compare alternative statistical approaches to solve them.

Communication skills
Students acquire the ability of discussing problems and of presenting oral and written reports of their practical analyses.

Learning skills
The students acquire a series of skills useful for future academic and professional activities.

Conoscenze statistiche utili (non strettamente obbligatorie) per un'efficace fruizione dell'unità didattica a carattere seminariale: Statistica economica I, Economia, Econometria, Statistica multivariata e Inferenza statistica. Tuttavia, tutti gli argomenti derivanti da questi seminari e laboratori verranno rivisti e spiegati secondo necessità per il corso.

Frequenza obbligatoria.

Lavoro di gruppo di alcuni studenti. Gli studenti sono tenuti a sviluppare e risolvere un dato problema come spiegato in classe. Tutto il materiale necessario per sostenere l'esame (idoneità) è disponibile su Moodle. Inoltre, è necessario sviluppare un caso di studio (ricerca breve) scegliendo, a discrezione del gruppo di studenti, un argomento tra quelli presentati dal Team di specialisti FAO.
