Scientific curriculum
Author of more than 120 papers 75 of which published on international refereed journals, Scopus 1725 citations, h index 23, Googlescholar 2375 citations h index 27. Author of the research book Smart structures, J. Wiley 2009.
Research topics: aerospace structures, space systems, concurrent engineering and multidisciplinary methods for engineering design, cost engineering, laminated and composite structures, active materials and smart structures, thermal structures, finite element modelling, multyphisics analysis, design for additive manufacturing.
Lecturer in different graduate and PhD regular courses of the Università di Roma La Sapienza, in some special courses for companies (Thales Alenia Space, Telespazio, CSM-Tecnopolo, AVIO) and in international courses (ASI-NATO). Invited lectures in many top level academic and research institutions (Columbia University NY USA, TU Delft The Netherlands, Zurich Polytechnic Switzerland, Conservatoire des Arts et Metiers Paris France, ENPA Poitiers, France).
Responsible of research projects funded by the Italian Ministry for Research, the National Research Council, The Lazio Region, the Italian Space Agency (ASI), the European Space Agency (ESA), EU FP.
Expert in the evaluation of research projects for the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Reserch, the Italian Ministry for Industrial development, The European Research Council, the regions Lazio, Toscana, Veneto, Piemonte, Puglia.
