Position: Since November 2022, Head of the DSS, coordinator of the PhD program School in Statistical Sciences (until September 2023). March 2019: Full Professor at the DSS- University of Rome "La Sapienza".

Research:
Environmental Statistics: Ecology, climatology, geostatistics and space-time models. Multivariate estreme values. Environmental indicators: definition and evaluation. Environmental risk assessment. Bayesian modeling of directional data.
Forensic Statistics and signal processing. Since 2000 she has been involved in several EU projects (SMART) in collaboration with the Italian Scientific Police.

1994 -1995 Post-doc (fellowship ) at the Institute for the Application of Calculus "Mauro picone" (I.A.C.) of the National Council of Research (C.N.R.),working with Prof. Mauro Piccioni and Doctor P. Barone) on MCMC algorithms for dependent observations.
1992 - 1994 she worked on her Phd thesis on Stochastic Algorithms based on Markov Chains for constrained estimation problems, with Mauro Piccioni (University of L'Aquila).

From August 9, 1993 to August 20, 1993 she attended the International Summer School on Computational Statistics, organized by International Association for Statistical Computing (IASC), Italian Statistical Society (SIS) and the Department of Statistics University of Perugia, which has been held at the University of Perugia.

From August 1992 to December 1992 she was visiting the Statistics Department of Pennsylvania State University (State College), working with Colin Goodall on Bayesian estimation for graphical models, attending (without credits) the following courses: Multivariate statistical analysis (Prof. C.R. Rao), Statistics (advanced), SpatialStatistics (Prof. C. Goodall).
From January to August 1991 she was visiting the Statistics Department of Columbia University, supported by a fellowship from the Italian National Council of Research (C.N.R.), working with Prof. Colin Goodall on Bayesian estimation for graphical Gaussian models, attending (without credits) the following courses: Stochastic processes (Prof. I. Karaztzas), Mathematical Statistics, Special topics in Statistics (Prof. H. Robins).

From March to December 1990 teaching assistant in the graduate school on Social Research (university of Rome, Department of Sociology) and she continued her research in the field of spatial statistics.
