Cecilia Cecchini
Laureata in Architettura cum laude presso l Università La Sapienza . PhD in Tecnologie dell'Architettura.
Professore Associato di Disegno Industriale presso la Facoltà di Architettura.
Fondatore (2007) e Direttore (fino al 2018) del Master in Exhibit & Public Design (http://w3.uniroma1.it/masterexhibit), membro dell'Unità Alta Formazione per le Attività di Terzo Livello del Dipartimento di Pianificazione, Design, Tecnologia dell Architettura.
Esperto della commissione Design dei materiali e dei sistemi tecnologici dell Osservatorio Permanente del Design dell'ADI Associazione per il Disegno Industriale per l'ADI Design Index.
È stata coordinatore del Corso di Laurea in Disegno Industriale (dal 2008 al 2011) ed è attualmente membro del Comitato di Coordinamento del Corso di Laurea in Disegno Industriale.
Titolare degli insegnamenti: Tecnologie e Progettazione I del CdL in Disegno Industriale e dell Atelier di Exhibit Design della CdLM in Design Comunicazione Visiva e Multimediale.
Fin dalla sua istituzione (2008) è Curatore Scientifico del Centro di Ricerca Museale Fondazione Plart (www.fondazioneplart.it).
Svolge attività di ricerca presso il dipartimento PDTA Pianificazione, Design, Tecnologia dell Architettura sull innovazione nel campo dei materiali e delle tecnologie, con particolare riferimento ai materiali polimeri, e sui temi dell Exhibit Design.
Membro del Centro Interdipartimentale Sapienza Design Research, di LeNS (International the Learning Network on Sustainability), di Cumulus (International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media), della SID (Società Italiana di Design) e dell INSTM (Consorzio Interuniversitario Nazionale per la Scienza e la Tecnologia dei Materiali).
Direttore editoriale delle Edizioni Fondazione Plart, membro del comitato scientifico del Premio Nazionale di Editoria Universitaria dell Associazione Italiana del Libro. Ha fatto parte della redazione della rivista Diid Disegno Industriale (2011-12). E' stata caporedattore della rivista AU Tecnologie edita dall IN-ASA Istituto Nazionale dell Arredo Urbano (1991 al 1993) e redattore della rivista AU Arredo Urbano (1989-1993). È stata titolare (2006 al 2008) della rubrica Idee e Tecnica pubblicata su Progetti e Concorsi (Edilizia e Territorio, Il Sole 24 Ore).

- Bio-packaging realizzato con materiali provenienti dalla filiera agroalimentare (2016)

Ha coordinato e diretto ricerche e progetti per conto di enti pubblici e privati: ASI (Agenzia Spaziale Italiana), AMA (Azienda Municipale Ambiente), CER (Comitato Edilizia Residenziale), Cresme, Irsed, CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche), CNC (Consorzio Nazionale delle Cooperative), sulla componentistica, sulle tecnologie e sui materiali innovativi.

Tra i progetti di ricerca progettuale realizzati:
- Roma, Ponte Pedonale di Villa Doria Pamphili, con MdAA Architetti Associati e Ove Arup & Partners.
Vincitore (2° premio) del Concorso Internazionale bandito dal Comune di Roma: Preliminary design competition for a prototype pedestrian bridge to be located along the jubilee routes in the city of Rome .
- Cabine telefoniche Telecom, con MdAA Architetti Associati.
Vincitore del premio DuPont Benedictus Awards dell American Institute of Architects per "exceptional merit" per l'uso del vetro strutturale.

Scrive sulle più importanti riviste di design e architettura, è autrice di circa 100 pubblicazioni scientifiche, saggi e articoli apparsi su volumi e riviste nazionali e internazionali.

Expert member of the "Design of Materials and Tecnological Systems Commission" for the Permant Observatory of ADI - Italian Association.
Member of the Coordination Committee of the Degree Course in Industrial Design. Coordinator of the Degree Course in Industrial Design (from 2008 to 2011).
Teaches Technologies and Design 1 at the Degree Course in Industrial Design, and Atelier Exhibit Design for the Master s Degree course in Design Visual Communication and Multimedia.
Since its appointment (2008) she has been the Scientific Curator of the Plart Foundation Museum Research Centre (www.fondazioneplart.it).
Conducts research in the Department of Planning, Design, Technology of Architecture in connection to material and technological innovation and exhibit design.

Coordinated and directed research and projects on behalf of public and private bodies in the field of components, innovative technologies and materials.
