Curriculum

Francesco Michelotti - Short Curriculum Vitae

My scientific activity was mainly experimental in the field of nonlinear optics and, in particular the first and second order electro-optics properties of thin organic polymer films. I also studied the fabrication and characterization of organic light emitting diodes and solar cells. During the last ten years, I focused on biophotonics, in particular the application of Bloch surface waves on photonic crystals for early diseases detection and gas sensing. Recently I also studied surface plasmon polaritons on thin transparent conducting oxides. I’m author of about150 articles on peer-reviewed journals and frequently invited to give presentations at conferences. Since 1997 I’m coordinating the Molecular Photonics Laboratory of my University.
