Giulia Zacchia è ricercatrice presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Statistiche dell'Università La Sapienza di Roma, dove insegna Economia dei mercati finanziari ed Economia di genere sia presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Statistiche sia presso il programma di Global Humanities.
È attiva, in qualità di membro del Comitato Scientifico, nel laboratorio Minerva su diversità e disuguaglianze di genere (https://web.uniroma1.it/labminerva/en). Ha conseguito un dottorato di ricerca in storia del pensiero economico e svolge attività di ricerca sui temi dell'esclusione sociale ed equità di genere in particolare sul mercato del lavoro. È tra le fondatrici del Working Group di Gender Economics della Young Scholars Initiative dell'Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET). È membro del consiglio direttivo della Storep, del comitato editoriale della rivista Moneta e credito e della Young Scholars Member Committee di IAFFE.
È attualmente impegnata nei seguenti progetti internazionali:
DALILA progetto Erasmus + sulla green economy in Tanzania e Uganda;
VIRAGE progetto finanziato dalla Commissione Europea e coordinato dal CEPS su uguaglianza di genere e relazioni industriali.

Giulia Zacchia is research fellow in economics at the Department of Statistics of Sapienza University of Rome, where she teaches Financial Markets and Institutions and Gender Economics both in the Department of Statistics and in the Global Humanities academic program in Sapienza university. She collaborates with Minerva - Laboratory on Gender Diversity and Gender Inequality (https://web.uniroma1.it/labminerva/en). She holds a PhD in History of Economic Thought. Her research interests extend to social and financial inclusion, gender economics and gender gaps in labor markets and in academia. Her on-going research projects are on the impact of sexual harassment on wage gaps and on the identification of the contribution of women to the development of the economic thought, trying to remove the ignorance about who were the women pioneers of economics.
She is also involved in international projects working with Tanzanian and Ugandan Universities within an Erasmus+ project (DALILA) on green economics where she is responsible for the green economics courses that will be implemented in the partners local universities. She is also working as research unit in a European project that aims at visualizing and measuring the role of Industrial Relations in Addressing Gender Equality (VIRAGE) financed by European Commission and coordinated by the CEPS.
She is one of the founders of the Working Group on Gender Economics for the Young Scholars Initiative of the Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET). She is member of the executive committee of STOREP (Italian Association for the History of Political Economy) of the editorial board of the journal Moneta e credito. She recently joints the Young Scholars Member Committee of IAFFE.
