BIOSKETCH.

Isotta Chimenti is Associate Professor at the Department of Medical Surgical Sciences and Biotechnologies, Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine, and Team Leader in the Experimental Cardiovascular Pathology Lab of the DSBMC departiment at “La Sapienza” University of Rome. Her education includes a Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology, and a PhD in Experimental Medicine. She has been a postdoc fellow at Johns Hopkins University, at Cedars Sinai Heart Institute, and at Pasteur Institute – Italy. Her research activity is focused on cardiac stromal cells and tissue repair, in particular on cardiac microenvironment, cardiac tissue engineering, oxidative and metabolic stress in the cardiovascular system. She is funded as PI by several Italian National grants, and participant in a European Horizon 2020 project. She co-authored over 65 Scopus indexed publications.
