The course in Condensed Matter Physics will start on Thursday, September 26th 2024 in Aula Cabibbo at 12 am
Prof. Grilli will be on leave of absence for health reasons in the first two weeks of the Condensed Matter Physics course (K-Z students). Therefore, all students (A-L and K-Z) will attend the lectures by Prof. Polimeni in this period.

Born in Florence in May 5th, 1961. Married, two children.
ACADEMIC CURRICULUM
1985: Laurea in Fisica cum Laude, by the Universita' di Roma "La Sapienza".
1986-1987: Scholarship by the International School for Advanced Studies (ISAS) in Trieste (Italy).
1990: Ph. D. by the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
1990-91: Scholarship of the Consorzio Interuniversitario di Struttura della Materia (INFM) for a Project on High Temperature Superconductivity.
1991: Permanent position as Assistant Professor (in Solid State Physics) by the Department of Physics of the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
1998: Permanent position as Associate Professor (in Solid State Physics) by the Department of Physics of the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
2010: Idoneous as Full Professor in Condensed Matter Physics
2014: Qualified as a Full Professor in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics (02B2) and as Full Professor in Theoretical Physics (02A2)
Present position Full Professor in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Spent several periods of research abroad, among which by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge-USA), by the Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Grenoble, France, by the Laboratoire pour l'Etude des Proprietés Electroniques des Solides (LEPES), Grenoble, France, by the Laboratoire de Physique Quantique, Ecole Superieure de Physique et Chimie Industrielles, Paris, Francia.
FIELDS OF RESEARCH
-Statistical mechanics and field theory and their application to the critical phenomena in disordered electron systems;
-quantum statistical mechanics and numerical simulation of quantum systems;
-strongly correlated electron systems;
-high temperature superconductors;
-electron-phonon interacting systems;
-quantum critical phenomena in strongly correlated electron systems.
-Elecronic properties in oxide heterostructures. Spintronics
-Topologic systems and Majorana Fermions
