Main research topics and interests
My research activity spans the fields of Molecular and Evolutionary Ecology. Integrating molecular, behavioral and phenotypic analyses, I investigate how eco-evolutionary processes affect the origin and maintenance of biological diversity at population and species level. My core research interests include: i) the role of ecological context in hybridization and its impact on inter- and intra-specific diversity; ii) species interactions and their influence on population and community; iii) the evolution of adaptive polymorphisms and the mechanisms facilitating their spread across populations. My research utilizes arthropods—including species of agricultural and medical importance—as model systems, which also informs the development of targeted, eco-friendly control strategies.
