EXPERTISE:
Dr Pisano has worked in the field of mm/sub mm wave experimental astronomy since 1994. He has constantly developed new technology to enable innovative science investigation techniques with mm wave astronomical experiments. He is an expert in the design and testing of quasi optical metamaterial devices and he is currently involved in major international Cosmic Microwave Background projects (ground based, balloon borne and satellite) for which he is developing key components for their instruments. He is involved as PI and Co PI in ESA and NASA projects for technology development of metamaterial Half Wave Plates and mesh lenslet arrays. Dr Pisano is playing a major role in the optical design of the Japanese LiteBIRD satellite mission (MHFT instrument co-coordinator).
