Curriculum
Prof. Andrea M. Isidori is a Full Professor of Endocrinology at Sapienza University of Rome and Chair of the Advanced Endocrine Diagnostics Unit at Policlinico Umberto I, Rome. Since 1999, he has been conducting translational research in andrology and endocrinology, seamlessly integrating basic science with clinical applications. His work involves extensive international collaborations with institutions such as Queen Mary University of London and the University of Oxford.
Prof. Isidori is a leading authority in steroid hormone pathophysiology, with specialized expertise in male hypogonadism, adrenal tumors, pituitary disorders, and rare endocrine syndromes. He has published over 270 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact international journals, including Nature, NEJM, The Lancet, Science Translational Medicine, Circulation, and, most importantly, Andrology. His work has garnered an overall Impact Factor exceeding 1400, with more than 25,000 citations and a Google Scholar h-index of 82.
Prof. Isidori has held several prominent leadership roles within professional organizations. He served on the Executive Committee of the European Academy of Andrology (2014–2022), contributed to the International Consultation on Sexual Medicine (2015, 2024), and was Treasurer of the International Society of Andrology (2017–2020). Most recently, he served as President of the Italian Society of Andrology and Sexual Medicine (2021–2023).
