ANDREA ISIDORI

Prof. Andrea M. Isidori is Full Professor of Endocrinology at Sapienza University of Rome and Chair of the Advanced Endocrine Diagnostics Unit at Policlinico Umberto I. Since 1999, he has led translational research in endocrinology and andrology, bridging basic science and clinical innovation. His work, in collaboration with institutions such as Queen Mary University of London and the University of Oxford, has ranged from studies on cyclic nucleotides and phosphodiesterases to clinical trials in male hypogonadism, adrenal and pituitary tumors, and rare endocrine syndromes.
He has authored over 270 peer-reviewed articles in top-tier journals including Nature, NEJM, The Lancet, Science Translational Medicine, Circulation, and Andrology, with more than 25,000 citations and a Google Scholar h-index of 84. Recognized among the world’s top 2% of scientists (PLOS Biology), he is also a respected leader in the field. He has served on the Executive Committee of the European Academy of Andrology (2014–2022), the International Consultation on Sexual Medicine (2015, 2024), as Treasurer of the International Society of Andrology (2017–2020), and ExCo member of the ENEA (European Neuroendocrine Association, 2020-2024).
