Degree Programme

The Degree Programme in Learning Sciences is a three-year course. The Programme has an interdisciplinary, scientific, and historical-critical structure, and tries to realise an educational project connected to research and innovation paths in the educational areas.
The Programme is aimed at supplying students with a strong cultural preparation, essential both to continue with a Masters Degree and to start working, and with a flexibility that is possible thanks to general and specific knowledge and skills, essential to understand and direct the changes and to master the evolution of society and technologies.
Research activities and attention to change, innovation, and reform processes accompany the whole Programme, that include a wide range of workshop activities, research exercises, and internships (about 300 hours), where students can deal with school and extra-school, professional training, company training, non-profit world, and the new technological and multimedia applications in teaching.
The Programme intends to train a professional figure meeting the more and more complex and changeable requests from the world of work within the services to person during the whole life cycle: from childhood to special needs, to the different and new forms of social disadvantage and marginality, to the problems of the third/fourth age, as well as to the new educational needs in adulthood.
Graduates will be able to work:
• in public and private entities, in the service sector, or as freelance professionals;
• in different areas (preschool, scholastic, professional, and continuing education and training; social-educational area; social-health area; areas of human resources organisation and management; area of cultural services, documentation, and publishing; research area);
• with person of various ages (childhood, adolescence, adulthood, third age).
Graduates will be able to work in the following educational services:
• educational services for childhood (nursery schools, centres for children and families, house services, corporate child care facilities, toy libraries, integrated services of help and support to parenthood and childhood, other private services);
• recreational, artistic/expressive, and free time educational services for childhood, adolescence, and adulthood;
• scholastic and extra-scholastic educational services for inclusion and disadvantage prevention;
• educational services for protection, disadvantage prevention, and wellbeing support for adolescents;
• educational services oriented to protection, disadvantage prevention, and social inclusion for disadvantaged groups and minorities;
• educational services oriented to social inclusion for disabled persons;
• re-education and re-socialisation services oriented to the rehabilitation and re-integration in social life of persons with social, physical, and psychic disadvantages;
• services of formal and non-formal education and of professional training for adults;
• services of environmental and cultural heritage education for the knowledge, protection, and enhancement of patrimony.
