Sapienza University of Rome offers various opportunities for its students to expand their knowledge and skills through periods of education and training abroad.

For more information, please refer to the INTERNATIONAL section of the University portal and to the INTERNATIONAL section of the I3S Faculty portal.

The Erasmus+ Mobility Programme is promoted by the European Union to allow students to spend three to twelve months at another university in Europe or outside of Europe.

Erasmus students attend courses, take exams and transfer the earned credits back to Sapienza. Moreover, the Erasmus+ Programme also provides a grant to help you cover the costs of living abroad.

As an Erasmus+ student, you are guaranteed the acceptance of all your educational activities completed abroad. You do not have to pay tuition abroad (you pay tuition at the university where you are enrolled) and have all the rights reserved to enrolled students at your host university.

The Academic Managers for the International Mobility of degree programs, to contact eg. for information on the learning agreement and on the equivalence of the exams are:

Thanks to funding provided by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), Sapienza provides Bachelors, Masters and PhD Students (who are not on scholarships) with the opportunity to enjoy a period of studies abroad, either to take exams or work on their theses, in one of over 200 non-EU universities that have bilateral agreements with Sapienza University.

Bilateral mobility agreements between Sapienza University and other universities provide reciprocal advantages both to outgoing and incoming students as neither have to pay any additional tuition fees. Outgoing students will continue to normally pay tuition fees at Sapienza, NOT at the host university. (In some cases, however, there may be a registration fee.)
