Degree Programme

The programme of the Master's Degree Course in Clinical Psychosexology is based on the evident demand for specific training for the psychologist who ideally goes through three stages of training:

a) the bachelor’s degree (Degree Class: L-24) to learn the theoretical bases of neuroscience, psychological, and behavioural sciences;

b) the master's degree which in this case provides specific general clinical skills and applied to psychology and psychopathology of sexual and reproductive behaviour according to gender differences and identities;

c) postgraduate courses enabling to the psychotherapy practice.

The master's degree course, in short, has the task to train, for the first time in the Italian university system, clinical psychologists and sexologists. The graduated student, in particular, will have specific competences in managing the individual, the dyad, the family, up to the social and cultural macro area.

In the labour market, the graduated student will be able to provide psychosexological counselling in the following specific areas:

a) Family Counselling Centres;

b) Medically Assisted Procreation Centres;

c) Psychiatry, Oncology, Gynaecology, Andrology, Endocrinology’s centres;

d) Outpatient Clinics dedicated to sexually transmitted infections;

e) Centres for Diagnosis and Treatment for Identity Gender Dysphoria;

f) Civil and criminal courts (Appraisals)

g) Prisons (Criminal Paraphilias)

h) Compulsory and secondary schools (Course of Sexual Education, Feelings and Respect for gender differences and orientation).
