At the end of the course, students are called to write a final dissertation researching a relevant subject chosen among the ones taught in the master’s degree course. The entire thesis project must be accomplished under the supervision of an advisor belonging to the pertaining Didactic Council. Students are also encouraged to collaborate with public or private institutions, companies or research centres operating in their field of interest.

During the oral defence of the thesis, students are required to demonstrate the competences acquired in the disciplines related to Nanotechnology Engineering, as well as illustrating the original aspects and the technological context of their dissertation. To accomplish this final step, they are expected to discuss and communicate accurately and effectively the results of their research in front of the Examination Board.
