Course program
• concepts of asepsis, antisepsis, bacteriostasis, and sterilization; hand washing and use of gloves in relation to the various care needs; • patient preparation for elective and emergency surgery; • nursing skills in managing informed consent for surgery and anesthesia; • nursing care in the immediate preoperative period: assistance during pre-anesthesia, transport to the operating room; • operating suite, management of electromedical equipment, management of sterilization processes and routes; • staff behavior: preparation of the operating room and surgical instruments, dressing of nursing and medical staff; • nursing responsibilities and skills regarding surgical counts in the operating room; • suture materials, surgical wound dressing, drains; • nursing skills in managing the patient in the immediate postoperative period; • patient care during liver biopsy; • management of the patient with a nasogastric tube; • management of the ostomy patient.
