Course program
Anatomical nomenclature. General organization of human body.
Skeletal and muscular system: General anatomy of bones, joints, muscles; anatomical basis of movement. Skull, vertebral column, neck, thoracic and abdominal wall, upper and lower limbs.
Cardiovascular system: Structure of arteries, veins and capillaries. Anatomy of heart, pericardium and pericardial cavity. Aorta and its principal branches; main arteries supplying head, trunk and limbs. Anatomy of superior and inferior vena cava system. Lymphatic drainage. Lymphoid organs: thymus gland, spleen, lymph node.
Respiratory system: Anatomy of nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, larynx and respiratory tract, lungs, pleural cavity. Mediastinum.
Digestive system: Anatomy of the mouth and salivary glands; pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine. Liver, biliary tract and pancreas. Peritoneal cavity. Hepatic portal system.
Urinary system: Anatomy of kidneys and urinary tract.
Central and peripheral nervous system: Anatomy of the brain, brainstem and spinal cord. Meninx and meningeal spaces. Afferent and efferent pathways. Autonomic nervous system. Cranial and spinal nerves. Eye’s and ear’s anatomy.
Cutis and cutaneous appendages. Mammary gland.
Prerequisites
Minimum requirement: basic knowledge of animal biology and cell organization
Important: basic knowledge of physics and chemistry

Exam mode
To pass the exam the student must obtain not less than 18/30 in each module of the course. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the topics covered during the course. To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude the student must instead demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, showing ability with the use of technical terms and correct linguistic expressions.

• Reasoning of the student and ability to relate topics
• Correct use of language
