The practical test focuses on the analysis of a clinical case, extracted from a volunteer candidate, among all the cases prepared by the Examination Commission and related to all the areas of expertise of the Audiometrist Technician. For the analysis and resolution of each case, some minimum criteria are identified by the Examination Commission. The cases contain the essential elements for their classification and for being able to answer the questions asked.
The practical test, which can obtain a score of up to 11 points, takes place before the dissertation of the thesis on the same day. At the end of the practical test, the student is informed that he/she has obtained the qualification to practice the profession and has been admitted to the presentation and dissertation of the thesis.
The types of theses foreseen are:
a) compilation thesis, which requires that the theme is developed in an original way starting from knowledge documented through bibliographic research at a national and international level
b) experimental thesis, which can be developed within the scope of ongoing research in which the student can take part in phases to be agreed with the Supervisor and the Co-Supervisor or by carrying out a research project prepared for the purposes of the thesis.
The thesis requires the intervention of the Supervisor and the Co-Supervisor of the thesis, who, together with the Commission, will present the candidate with questions for further study. The Examination Commission, also based on the proposal of the Supervisor, will evaluate the paper and its presentation, assigning up to a maximum of 10 points.
At the end of the thesis session, the final grade is communicated and the proclamation is made.
