Graduate
To be admitted to the final exam (degree exam), students must have passed all required exams, completed the required number of hours for internships, and passed the relevant exam. To graduate, students must pass a final exam consisting of: a) a practical exam, in which they must demonstrate they have acquired fundamental technical and practical skills relevant to their specific professional profile; b) the preparation of a thesis, under the guidance of a supervisor, and its dissertation. The thesis, which concerns topics or disciplines closely related to the professional profile, may be research-based, technical-applicative, or compilation-based. Students who fail the practical exam cannot be admitted to the thesis dissertation. Both phases of the final exam will be conducted before a Committee composed by law, in compliance with the University Academic Regulations and the Faculty and Degree Program Academic Regulations. The degree exam serves as a state exam for professional qualification.
Job Orientation
Sapienza's Career Service supports students and graduates during the delicate transition from university to the world of work, providing a variety of services, including:
- assistance and information on services provided;
- individual career counseling;
- CV review;
- training catalog for career guidance and employability development;
- partnership agreements with companies for placement and career guidance initiatives;
- confidential selections;
- organization of recruiting and orientation events;
- organization of Career Days.
Career guidance takes the form of specific activities organized by the Career Service and/or by faculties and other university departments, or in collaboration with companies, external public or private organizations, and trade associations.
Career guidance activities may consist of seminars, workshops, and themed events on career guidance, transferable skills, and career management skills (e.g., soft skills, CV writing, active job search strategies, video CVs, social networks, Employability Lab, etc.).
To facilitate contact with companies and organizations, we organize Recruiting Days, Career Days, Testimonial Days, company presentations, company visits, assessments, business games, mentoring programs, or other placement-related initiatives, including those with alumni and company mentorships. These events can be held both online and in person and are aimed at identifying the most suitable candidates for the professional opportunities offered by companies.
Seminars, workshops, and thematic events dedicated to placement (e.g., innovation, start-ups, business incubation, career focus, Innovation Camp, etc.) are also available to students and graduates.
Students and graduates can use the JobTeaser Sapienza online platform to:
• create and customize their CV;
• apply for job opportunities that match their profile;
• consult the list of companies and associations registered on the platform to contact them independently;
• register for recruiting events, company presentations, and scheduled Career Days.
Every year, the Career Service organizes the University Career Day, dedicated to students and graduates from all eleven Sapienza Faculties, as well as various Career Days by subject area or Faculty, such as: Career Day for Humanities and Social Sciences; Career Day for Economics and Law; and Career Day for STEM.
Services, the calendar of events, and opportunities for students and graduates are published on the University website at the following page: https://www.uniroma1.it/it/pagina/career-service-studenti-e-laureati
The Career Service manages its social media channels Facebook, X, and LinkedIn, where it promotes services, calls for applications, competitions, and other opportunities for students and graduates.
