Course program
In this module, students will develop advanced competences in conducting a secondary study (systematic review, meta-analysis, or narrative synthesis) contextualized within the clinical nursing/midwifery field.
They will begin with defining the research question (e.g., PICO/PCC) and identifying bibliographic sources, moving through systematic study selection, critical appraisal, and evidence synthesis. Students will learn how to analyze the statistical methods used in reviews, evaluate the quality of included studies (using tools like AMSTAR, ROB2, GRADE), and synthesize results in an integrated form applicable to clinical practice.
Finally, students will engage in reflection on how to translate the synthesized findings into care recommendations, produce a project report documenting their work and its clinical applicability, and defend methodologic choices and practical implications with the examining committee.
