1. Research Methodology (introductory module):
Principles of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP).
Types of studies (observational, experimental, RCTs).
Hierarchy of evidence of effectiveness.
Bibliographic sources and database searches (PubMed, PEDro).
Critical reading of scientific articles.
Structure of a scientific article and main quality indicators.
2. Joint Biomechanics:
Concepts of leverage, moments, and muscle forces.
Biomechanics of the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow, and wrist.
Functional analysis of joint movements.
3. Gait cycle:
Phases of normal gait.
Kinematic and kinetic analysis.
Main gait alterations in rehabilitation.
4. Palpation anatomy:
Palpation of the main bony landmarks and muscle groups.
Tendon and joint localization techniques.
Practical exercises in pairs.
5. Muscle testing and joint ROM assessment:
Principles and classification of manual muscle testing.
Practical execution of tests for the upper and lower limbs.
Measurement of joint ROM with a goniometer.
Data interpretation and clinical recording.
