HBIM MODELS FOR ARCHITECTURE

Course objectives

HBIM Models for Architecture The course aims to train students in the field of HBIM, the declination of Building Information Modeling specifically designed to adapt to the activities related to knowledge, restoration, transformation and management of the built heritage and historical buildings of which our country is particularly rich. The application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes to existing buildings (Heritage Building Information Modeling), in fact, is a strongly growing sector in all areas related to the documentation and management of cultural heritage. The proposed activities are divided into two blocks. The first aims at framing the HBIM process from a methodological point of view, placing it between research and professional use and relating it to the activities that pursue the current needs of documentation (survey); the second includes practical activities related to the application of software tools by conducting experiments similar to those present in the professional world. The course, therefore, aims to act on both these levels by providing students with references both methodological and operational that allow them to act at the urban scale, territorial and single building primarily in contexts subject to risk (seismic, hydrogeological, etc..) or already affected by destructive events.
