BUSINESS FINANCE
Course objectives
The aims of the course are: - to understand the role of finance, in particular Corporate Finance, within the current globalized economy; - to analyze critically pricing methodologies and their consistency conditions; - to consider from a common perspective different school of thoughts and research areas of Finance. The contribution of classical finance, behavioral finance and conditioned finance to the theory and analysis of economic value will be highlighted. Students who have passed the exam will be able to apply the models and principles of Corporate Finance needed to appreciate the economic value (or lack thereof) that may arise from strategies and business operations.

The 6 CFU program considers the topics covered in chapters 12, 13 and 14 2022 edition (or chapters 10, 11 and 12, 2015 edition) already acquired in the curricular path. Only in this case, these chapters are to be considered excluded from the program.
Prerequisites
The first part of the course involves an alignment of the differentiated skills of the Students, and the adopted text provides tools to acquire the essential, important and useful knowledge that someone did not possess.

Palomba G., Gennaro A. (2022), Corporate Finance. Financial Analysis, Decisions and Evaluations, McGraw-Hill
The Text is a reference material for Attending and Non-Attending Students.
Frequency
The course is delivered exclusively in person; in order to obtain the required CFU, Students who decide not to attend the course will present themselves for the exam with the same standard applications as attending Students (individual applications: they will be assigned by the Teacher following a request to be made during office hours) to verify the level of actual application capacity achieved.
Exam mode
The exam consists of a written test and an oral test.
At the written exam each Candidate presents his/her own individual paper (mandatory in order to pass the exam) required by the course and assigned by the Teacher.
The oral exam requires passing a preliminary written exam aimed at determining the breadth and depth of the basic preparation as well as the operational skills acquired.
All Students must register for the exam through the Infostud system, to allow the organization of the exam, the booking of the classroom, the production of the Candidates' attendance sheets.
Students are invited to plan the exam in advance and to take adequate care of their preparation by following the instructions provided in the program.
Lesson mode
The lessons are organized by providing, in addition to the theoretical discussion, also applications (support to prepare the Student in terms of know-how) and tests (guided, individual) of the level of learning.
Each participant, following the instructions provided in the classroom, will complete their preparation by studying and deepening the parts of the textbook connected to the lessons. All Students, even those who do not attend the course, produce (and present at the exam) specific works aimed at verifying the level of application capacity of the studies carried out.
The lessons include: exposition of theories and models; practical applications; presentation of case histories; tests (aimed at detecting the progression of the Student's learning).
