The course aims to analyze the technical and economic characteristics of the main financial instruments of the securities markets and the their mechanisms of functioning in their respective markets, with particular reference to equities and bonds. In addition, the course aims to provide the theoretical framework and analytical instruments for the assessments and investment decisions relating to individual securities and portfolios of securities. At the end of the course students will learn the technical and economic characteristics of the main financial instruments of the securities markets, included the operation of analytical instrumentation for the evaluation of investment choices. More specifically, students will acquire the following skills: • Knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course the student will have knowledge of the technical and economic characteristics of the main financial instruments of the securities markets, mechanisms of functioning of securities markets and instruments useful in the evaluation of investment decisions concerning individual securities and portfolios of securities. • Applying knowledge and understanding: the students will be able to apply the concepts learned in the analysis of the instruments of the securities markets to fund management and securities trading. • Making judgements: the students will be able to independently assess the risk profile of the performance of individual securities or portfolios of securities. • Communication skills: students will acquire the ability to communicate through the presentation of an original work, expressing himself with propriety of language in the assessment of a portfolio of securities of listed companies. Learning skills: students completing the course will have acquired a self-evaluation capacity in the field of analysis of the instruments of the securities markets by improving their problem solving skills.
