Course program
The course develops the analysis of the institutes of the general part of the penal law also with references of special part. Specifically, the lessons are divided into the following order: 1) The criminal law, the crime and its species; 2) Criminal law and crime; 3) Interpretation and analogy; 4) Interpretation and autonomy of criminal law.The coordination between branches of law.Interpretation and "crisis of legality"; 5) Competition of criminal laws and structural relations between cases; 6) The effectiveness of criminal law over time; 7) The effectiveness of criminal law in space; 8) The effectiveness of the criminal law against people. International criminal law; 9) The structure, elements and conceptions of the crime; 10) The principle of materiality. The fact. The event; 11) The principle of offensiveness.The legal good. The event as an offense; 12) The conduct; 13) The causal link; 14) The passive subject and the active subject; 15) The principle of guilt. The titles of psychological imputation. Teaching mode
The lessons are conducted frontally by the teacher through the illustration of the general principles of criminal law and the constituent elements of the crime. During the course there is ample space for discussion with students. In-depth seminars on the topics covered in the classroom are also organized in order to make the preparation of the subject more complete.

Attendance is suggested but not mandatory
Exam mode
The examination consists of an oral test. In order to achieve a passing grade, the student must firstly demonstrate knowledge of the general principles of criminal law; secondly, the examinee must present knowledge of the individual elements constituting the offence and the institutions pertaining to the general part of criminal law. The student must also demonstrate that he/she has acquired the method of legal argumentation, expressing himself/herself with an adequate and correct propriety of language. The test is considered to have been passed with top marks if the student shows particular capacity for in-depth study and logical and coherent connection between the various institutes.
