Course objectives

The aim of the course is to provide the basic elements of applied thermodynamics, heat transfer, applied acoustics, lighting, heating.risultati attesi:Knowledge of working principles of thermal machine, of heat transfer systems, of control method for visual and acoustical environment.

Course program
Heat transmission: conduction, convection, radiation. Heat Exchange problems. Thermodynamics: principles. metrics. Reversible and non reversible processes. Thermodynamics of ideal gases. Heating and cooling systems. Thermodynamics of open systems. Moist air thermodynamics. Psycrometric charts and applications. Fundamentals of fluid mechanics. Fundamentals of HVAC systems. Energy in buildings.

-4 volumes on technical physics written by Prof. I. Barducci, ESA, 1985, -3 volumes on technical physics written by Prof G. Moncada Lo Giudice et al., Casa Editrice Ambrosiana, 1995.
Teaching mode
the course is structured with both lessons and exercises to help the students in practicising with problem solving.
Exam mode
There will be a written and an oral exam. The written exam is composed by theoretical questions and exercises. The oral part aims at verifying the knowledge of the student on topics non discussed in the written exam.
