The final examination consists of the preparation of a theoretical and/or experimental thesis on topics related to the courses of the Master’s Degree Programme, developed independently by the student under the supervision of a lecturer belonging to the Teaching Area Council, also in collaboration with public and private institutions, manufacturing and service companies, and research centres.

Job Orientation

Sapienza’s Career Service supports students and graduates in the transition from university to the labour market by providing a range of services, including:

Information and guidance on available services;
Individual career counselling sessions;
CV review and improvement;
Training catalogue for career guidance and employability development;
Establishment of partnerships with companies for placement and career orientation initiatives;
Reserved recruitment opportunities;
Organization of recruiting and career guidance events;
Organization of Career Days.

Career support is delivered through specific activities organized by the Career Service and/or Faculties and other university structures, often in collaboration with companies, public and private institutions, and professional associations.

Career guidance activities include seminars, workshops, and thematic events focused on employability, soft skills, and career management (e.g., CV writing, job search strategies, video CVs, use of social networks, Employability Lab, etc.).

To facilitate interaction with companies and institutions, the University organizes initiatives such as Recruiting Days, Career Days, Testimonial Days, company presentations, company visits, assessment sessions, business games, mentoring programmes, and other placement-related activities, including those involving alumni and corporate mentorship. These events may be held both online and in person and are aimed at matching candidates with suitable job opportunities.

Students and graduates also have access to seminars, workshops, and thematic events related to placement, including topics such as innovation, start-ups, business incubation, professional pathways, and initiatives like Innovation Camp.

Students and graduates can access the JobTeaser Sapienza platform to:

Create and personalize their CV;
Apply for job opportunities aligned with their profile;
Browse and contact companies and associations registered on the platform;

Career Day

Each year, the Career Service organizes the University Career Day, open to students and graduates from all eleven Faculties, as well as thematic or Faculty-specific Career Days (e.g., Humanities and Social Sciences, Economics and Law, STEM).

Programme Activities

The activities offered by the University and Faculty Career Services are complemented by the Degree Programme through a dedicated presentation for second-year PhD students in Infrastructures and Transport, considered a potential continuation pathway for further academic specialization in areas related to the Master’s Degree Programme in Transport Systems Engineering.
