Course program
Railway infrastructure – switches, lines, and stations. Rolling stock – mechanics of motion, electrical circuit (current collection devices; protection and control equipment; command systems); electric drives and motor regulation; multi-current locomotives. Substations and traction lines – DC and AC traction circuits: primary lines, electrical substations, traction lines, protections, operation, issues of interference and corrosion. Safety and signaling in railway traction; telecommunications for railway services. Project-based exercises – running simulations and sizing of fixed installations. Seminars

Good knowledge of electrical systems and electrical machines
